Can only speak from personal experience, but a couple of those stongly suggest that we don't just disappear into nothingness. Whether that has anything to do with matter, vibrations and energy in the traditional sense however I'm really not sure.

When you are dead, you are definitely dead though.
Obviously the molecules in the body are almost the same and almost in the same state, but a dead dog isnt the same as a live dog, even though the difference is only a few atoms of oxygen...
The trasnsition - if you want to take it like that -is a permanent transition and no-one has come back to tell us.....
When you think about it, it is a healthy body that enables you to live and a healthy brain that enables you to think so any existence you have when these quit functioning would be dramatically different. Don't let wondering too much about the alternative interfere with enjoying what you have while you have it.
