I'm Stunned!
38 Answers
Just had my weekly shop delivered by a certain supermarket.
The driver (a lovely man) was a bit shaken, on asking if he was ok he told me that he had just been assaulted by the previous customer because he didn't like his substitutions!
What is that about!!

It's a risk you take when doing online supermarket shopping. Sometimes they won't have what you have asked for and will send an alternative product. They will charge you the lower price and you can always refuse it at point of delivery.

Ive never ordered food online and now, I know I never will ( or hope I never have to ) Perhaps the drivers could carry a personal alarm with them too ( or the supermarket will give them a whistle) just in case. Shouldnt joke. I feel sorry for those who get attacked just for doing their job. many a time its not their fault that things go wrong.
This MUST be reported to the police - there is no place for such behaviour in a civilised society.
Substitutions do not have to be accepted, and also you can specify no subs on your original order (this applies to Sainsbury's but I'm sure the others follow suit). And anyway it's not the Driver who selects the substitutes, it's the Pickers.

I really felt bad for him, he was shaken up by it all but still trying to be professional and deliver my shopping (substitutes included!).
I really hope he does report it to the police. I was his last delivery before he headed back to the store, so hopefully someone will have had a wee visit from the local police by now.
