Is there any way I can get rid of these intrusive adverts? They are quite loud. Just wonder why they've started again.

I've just had a couple of them:- lemsip and optrex, playing when I'm trying to listen to songs on youtube.
On where, tv or on-line?
Ed's hamster not cycling fast enough I should expect!!
quinie and cupid are talking about intrusive noisy ads on AB (although it seems to happen on some other sites too.)
Ed hates it when this is mentioned, but if you get Adblock added to your browser, it stops them showing. Simples.

Wouldn't want to upset Ed but my OH isn't too happy about it either esp. when sport is on TV.lol Thank you for your advice,Hopkirk-glad it can be sorted.
Which browser do you use?
Question Author
Hopkirk.I must confess that I'm computer illiterate-I get my daughter to fix things.
Well certainly Firefox and Chrome can have Adblock as an add on - and possibly others as well, Perhaps she could set this up for you.
Question Author
Thank you,Hopkirk, for being so helpful.I'm sure daughter will be able to fix it for me.I should really learn more about my computer-I don't think the proverb "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" applies to me-yet lol
Adding adblock to your browser takes away a the cash required to make the site run.

We always try and get rid of advert that make noise, but sometimes a rogue advertiser can put them into one of our networks.

Where did you spot the ad?

Which ad slot was it in?
Question Author
Good morning,Ed,the ads I can remember were for Optrex and Lemsip. Will let you know if it happens again.I appreciate that ads are necessary but these were quite loud.I won't add adblock -thank you for answering.
Question Author
Adverts for Calgon and Lemsip came on just now while I was on Chatterbank,Ed.
I've found them annoying too, starting up when I'm on another tab, especially when trying to listen to something. Didn't know there was somewhere to report them. I had noticed it had got a little better lately.

The Lemsip one sounds familiar, most of them I take no notice of as I'm so pissed off I have to stop what I'm doing to switch them off and try and click onto a page which doesn't have an advert which plays sound.
Question Author
On again just now! Think I'll just log off and do a spot of gardening while the sun is shining.
We think we've caught them all.

Let us know if you spot any more.
Also, just as a point of note - I've seen these ads elsewhere on the web, so it might not always be AB :)

Make sure you're sure it's us when you report.
Question Author
Thank you,Ed.Will do as you suggest.
