My Blood Pressure Has Dropped Significantly :-)

For many years now I have suffered from very high blood pressure and have been on Ramipril and Synvastatin to reduce it, When I went to my local GP here in Wales to register he wanted to do a check-up on me and a bit of an MOT, he was surprised to see I was on BP tablets as my BP was normal. I have now completed a 24 hour BP monitoring session and going by those results it looks like I can come off my medication, I'm just waiting until next week for a final decision. Don't ask my BP's as I can never remember things like that, I just know it has gone from dangerously high to normal in 4 months.

The move to Wales seems to be paying off in health benefits already! So now that my meds are completely free I can stop taking them lol.

I aint complaining :-)

I tend to keep my posts fairly short, when I write long posts I tend to babble on and no one knows what the hell im on about!
Do you feel more relaxed, happy even? Presumably you moved to Wales either to achieve a long held ambition, escape a stressful situation or both. If that is the case then perhaps that is the explanation. Can this happen Sqad?

Both jomifl< i think that is the key + plus working with animals instead of working with humans is far less stressful. However, I really miss my "care work" I'm seriously thinking of going back into it.
If the lifestyle change has helped then long may it continue, that Anne is very naughty isn't she?
Hey RATTER, great stuff, med free. Just when you could have them free.
RATTER. there was nothing wrong with your post. :)

Anne, In all fairness I didnt explain myself very well, nothing unusual there lol but thanks.
Just a thought Ratter, whenever Mrs jom has had a blood pressure measurement at the GP she has suffered from white coat syndrome and had pressure readings far higher than when they were taken at home by yours truly. I'm wondering if your medication could have been based on erroneous pressure measurement because of a similar effect. Certainly good news however.
BlackQ: Not that either then. Won't apply for med school just yet! Good news for you & long may it continue.

I thought you were saying you wouldnt apply for med sch because you clearly didnt drink enough - [not play rugby ]
but then I read it again....
