What does the orange/yellow circle next to the radiator on the front of most London black cabs indicate?

its for the parcially sighted to reconise its a cab.

it's the point of the cab that most cabbies try to use when hitting a motorbike whilst doing a u-turn. 2nd point they use is the front right wing. i know from experience. from 'the invisible biker'.
