I am interested as to what certain people would use, I understand it was arse in the old days waiting for pictures to load up but I who doesnt have broadband now.

There are still a good few people out there on dial-up for various reasons, especially in the case of those living in more rural areas.

I know where you're coming from with regard to avatars, but it's something that I imagine would be on the back burner for quite a while. Incidentally, with the recent furore over Gropecnute Lane, I note that 'arse' is among the terms allowed these days. I'm sure that never got past the previous regime, but I may well be wrong.

I think those that really wanted to see other peoples avatars actually get to see them on other sites now and prefer to leave this one for Questions and Answers rather than socialising.

Try boards such as Froggers World (found if you type it in on google.co.uk) for such a board for avatar related fun.

Good idea goodsoulette :) nothing wrong with a small avatar, doesn't make this place any more frivolous. I think you can have a legitimate question and answer site that isn't like a a victorian morgue.
