The one thing I do know is that OMD- Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Had probably the biggest hit with almost their first single, Electricity. It was and remains a big favourite of mine.

There is nothing coming up for the three artists you named. I would have said OMD becase I know they did release Electricity as a single, early in their career. Right Said Fred or U2 would have stuck out if they'd had a track with that name - hadn't even heard of the Hermes House Band before...

It has to be OMD, it was their first single in 1979 released on Factory and Dindisc but was never a hit despite much airplay.

I've just been on polyhex.com to double check. The 3 hit versions of a song called 'Electricity' are by Suede, Spiritualized and Elton John. I think retrocop suggested a couple of those so well done to him/ her. I will keep searching my sources to see if any of your 3 did release something with that title but my view is it's something to do with U2's 'Electrical Storm'. Please do let us know piglet what the answer turns out to be, and get your complaint in early!
