It is interesting that Romania has seen fit to place a ban on foreign nationals buying farm land for at least twenty years because, apparently, it does not suit them. This is a clear contravention of the EU treaty under which they gained admission. Also, interestingly, I have not heard rumblings from the EU administration suggesting that Romania might be seen as "nasty" because of this and nor, more importantly, have I seen any inclination on their part to address the problem.
If the Prime Minister had any intention of acting upon the electorate's wishes (instead of just "hearing their concerns") he would place an immediate ban on Romanians settling here (for at least twenty years).
