have always said, if I have to give up chips, alcohol and sex I will start digging my own grave lol, but of course I wont as am a battler, ont think warfarin will last much longer,
If the NHS has nothing to offer but Warfarin, what, exactly, would you prefer to it to do?

You don't need anyone's permission to stop taking Warfarin and take up alcohol as a substitute, just don't be surprised if your AF causes 'something' to happen.
I can understand the frustration. But it is only for your benefit. Living with the after-effects of a stroke would be worse, i imagine.
Why are you on Warfarin tfg?
every adult who has mental capacity has a right to chose what treatment they will or will not accept. Just stop the warfarin, if that's what you want to do.
Can you afford to get a private consultation? It will cost about 200 quid. Any blood tests and so on on top will cost a bit more. If you aren't happy with the advice given by your GP, then go see him/her say (nicely) that you would like to consider all your options and ask for a private referral to a specialist consultant. Then at least you will have all your options.
Stop & you may have a stroke and be left to the care of others. You might not be able to feed/bathe/wash/toilet yourself or walk to get more booze ;(
My OH has to take warfarin every day, he takes it because the alternative a tablet called dabigatran (may have alternative names) designed specifically for AF patients is too expensive to prescribe, except to patients who are at high risk of strokes etc. NICE decreed this. He has asked about this new medicine because it can be taken once a day and doesn't need the visits to the clinic every so often, but the doctors in W Yorks won't prescribe it. Look after yourself tfg, MrAsk has a pint or two of beer every so often and watches what he eats.
Ah, reading back I see that you are on Warfarin for AF. You will of course know that the incidence of strokes in AF sufferers is double that of non-AF sufferers. Your original question was 'is a large whiskey followed by a bottle of wine etc .etc.etc...considered crazy?........YES!. The severity of strokes in AF sufferers as opposed to non- AF sufferers is also more severe. If you want to risk total physical disability because you are 'fed up with Warfarin controlling your life' then you are some sort of tw*at.
