Is there a way that I can update to iOS 6 without deleting too much? I don't mind deleting some stuff but 2.5gb is a lot! Please help

I upgraded to iOS6 last night, no probs.

Okay :) if I delete loads of stuff that's already on my laptop and delete it off my phone, then get iOS 6 and then put some of the stuf back on will it be okay?
