Burglar Alarm

Sometimes the sounder in our alarm control panel goes off when the alarm is not set and the 24hr lights up, on taking the cover off and checking everything nothing seems to be faulty or wrong with it. What can be causing this ? The external bell box does not ring as I say it occurs when the alarm is not set and we are in the house. Any help would be appreciated

It could be a tamper switch on one of the sensors or on the control panel or bell box that is actuating. The internal back-up battery can cause this (if fitted) if its output has dropped.
