Can anyone tell me, does a Hermaphrodite have two sets of dna.

I may stand to be corrected but i would think that a true hermaphrodite would have DNA chromosome, karyotypes of both sexes..

Coincidently, there was a programme on Channel 5 last night that mentioned exactly this topic. The prog was "The Twin Inside Me" and it was about people who have two sets of DNA. They are called Chimera and I think they said that there are only about 40 of them in the world. Some Chimera are hermaphrodites and they showed a baby who had the left side of its body female and the right side male!

Thank you all - the reason I asked is that I once knew a hermaphrodite, and she was a very masculine female, she reckons they chose to make her the wrong sex, and so I wondered as she was obviously made up of two people.
