You know, I didn't even think of that.
During the first and second world wars, many men didn't return from the trenches...
And logic dictates that Britain should have been knee deep in gays by the middle of the last century.
And there's documentary evidence to suggest that there were only four gay men in the UK at this time:
Danny La Rue
Frankie Howerd
John Inman
Kenneth Wiliams
And there were no lesbians at all...they first appeared in 1978.

Buzzfeed reported her as saying this;
"According to the news website BuzzFeed, which reported her alleged comments, she argued that it's a "big lie" that homosexuality is inborn and blamed the "lack of the father" and "sometimes a level of abuse" for creating homosexual feelings.
She reportedly illustrated this by pointing to Olympic diver Tom Daley who came out as gay earlier this month. She is said to have added that he is "loved by all the girls and had girlfriends" and had "lost his father to cancer just a few years ago"
Just seems a very odd, defensive and blinkered view of homosexuality, completely lacking in any evidence to support it.

I think she could have argued that sexuality is a complex subject with some gay people always knowing they were gay and others realising at puberty.
I wonder whether she was 'preaching to the choir' - as this speech was given at a conference in Jamaica which is isn't exactly at the forefront of promoting gay rights?
