2sp - that's it but it's gramatically frowned upon to put a comma before "and".
I understand the sentence itself, I realise it's about spaces between words.

I'm thick, but not that thick.

Sp - Pedants claim that "and" is a conjunction and, therefore, claim that it should not be preceded by a comma. I do agree with you that it can sometimes make the meaning clearer (and I do it myself sometimes).
At school we were taught that 'and' doesn't need a comma when listing similar things, but does when introducing subordinate clauses, e.g.

He said that lunch would be served at 1 o'clock and dinner at 7 o'clock, and that anyone arriving late may not be allowed in.

Which is why a comma isn't necessary in the OP.
There is the Oxford comma, of course...
