Tooth Pinged Off Dental Plate

Tisk...... I put mine in a tiny Tupperware box when this happens (as it does) and put it in a prominent place (like, with my front door key...)

Last time it happened, the dental repair place put a bit of mesh in across the break, at least it makes it a bit stronger for the next time!

Last time my teeth pinged, they were real, but it was painless thankfully.

A tiny tupperware box is a great idea, but I'm hopeless at picking things up from the table next to the front door (gas card, leccy key, gloves, hat, brolly etc)

I daren't ask what on earth you get up to for it to happen the next time!! :-D x

LOL.... I have had my denture a hundred years, I've had others made but nothing is as comfortable as this one, so I keep having it repaired and keeping the others for spares (I can't go out without it)..... where it doesn't fit so well, if I put pressure on it, it's - er- weaker.... I wish I could send you a scan (but I won't!) - it looks like a patchwork quilt of repairs!

The worst was in Tesco's car park where I had sneaked a Dime Bar (nice hard thing) - as I bit on it, ping! went my front teeth....!

Friend always keeps a tube of superglue handy. Her plate broke in two about an hour before her daughter's wedding but good old superglue came to the rescue. Still have my own gnashers thank goodness.

Eeargh - a friend of mine's husband used to stick his (real) fillings back with superglue, nooooooo.....

I do keep a dental repair kit to hand though, in case crowns or fillings come out (as they are wont to do on occasion!)

maggie, hang on to your own gnashers as long as you can!

Boxy, different dentist, tried to renew the top plate, awful, not likey at all.
Although it's a spare and more recent than this plate, it's uncomfy.

Oh, the bottom set snapped in half when I sat on it/them, superglued and didn't like at all. Tongue went to the join, same as when you went to the dentist and he drilled a hole in the tooth to get filled.....

I get mine done at a dental lab, it's cheaper than going to the dentist. Pop 'em in before 9am. repair always completed after lunch. about £35.

Under your pillow might bring some mullahs, or purse for safety.

albaqwerty, do you not have access direct to a dental repair laboratory? They usually have a repair-while-you-wait service and are good value for money.
Try putting the tooth in your purse for safe keeping.

I agree, choux, that's where I go for my repairs (and they made my last plate too, much cheaper and quicker than waiting for a dentist's appointment).
