The Moon
6 Answers
Did anyone notice a strange moon last night, 22 December?
Its was not a full moon but it appeared to have 'blue earmuffs'. The colour was quite a strong 'electric blue'. My husband who never can see or hear as good as me said at the time he couldn't see the blue. I had another look at 3.00 a.m. in the morning of the 23rd and the moon then had a very bright halo around it!

Well jomifl - I looked at the picure enlarged that you suggested and the 'moondogs' appear to be quite a distance from both sides of the moon. The 'earmuffs' I saw almost appeared to be 'attached' to both sides of the moon and they were definitely very blue and of a rounded triangular shape pointing outwards. I only wish I had had a powerful camera as I was completely intrigued! Thanks for pointing out the interesting site.
