Cannot Record Programmes

For some reson I cannot now record any programmes on my Sky box. Last night the 2 that I tried to record both said 'Failed to record', I tried today and if I press the 'R' on the remote it just flashes on for a second then off and will not record!! Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Does your Sky box show a good signal on one or both inputs?

Switch off your sky box at the wall and let it have a rest for a little while - I let mine rest overnight if possible, then plug in and switch on and hopefully everything will be ok after it comes back to life.

It may be a software problem, if rebooting it doesn't help then phone sky and they will sort it for you over the phone.

Mine is doing this, but i know we have a dodgy wire which we need to replace. Give them all a wiggle and make sure they're in properly. If that doesn't work, switch off at the wall for 15 seconds to reset.

I've just had this happen to me, switch off the sky box for bout 10 mins, then it should work
