I walk to work every day and have to use 5 Pedestian crossings on my journey. Something I have noticed that makes me smile is the amount of people that arrive at the crossing after you and still press the button. Do they think you are standing there for the good of your health, or that you're too lazy to take a couple of steps over to it and are waiting for them to come along and press it for you? There are also people that press the button repeatedly as if it's going to make the lights change quicker!!!

It always makes me smile though, I think it's really funny.

This is similiar to a question i put up on the 11th dec 05 have you noticed when you do get to other side of road the person on your left will walk right in front of you before you actually step on to pavement .Some interesting comments on it if you like to look back still on people and places.and yes I must admit I have pressed the button when someone has already done it .I wont be doing it again.

I asked a question along the same lines a few weeks ago:

i know its daft -

but, you'd be surprised how many times i have arrived at a crossing that someone is waiting at to find they haven't bothered to press the button!

do they not understand what its for? it usually grown ups too! and often men - perhaps they think they are to macho to use it...!

What about the people who cross the road just yards from a pedestrian crossing then get annoyed when they can't get across for the traffic! I once saw two women with pushchairs do just that except one of them ran down to the Pelican crossing to press the button then running back to wait for them to change. People do the strangest things.

lol i do that all the time! i agree that some people dont press it, like teenagers, far too cool to press the button for a lousy green man!

my mum always says "the only men i have time for are green men"
