Can someone please tell me how to find a homeopathist (is that what they're called?). Is there some sort of register than has only genuine ones on it/ or recommended ones? Or is there a name of a qualification I sholud look for on his/her list of quals? Thank you.

If you want one, either ask friends you trust to recommend one, or start with the Society of Homeopaths, which is just one of the organisations who will have a list of them in your area.
Broadly speaking, homeopaths either call themselves classical or not. Classical just means that you will usually get a single dose of a single remedy. The more modern ones are likely to give you several remedies at once. If, and I stress if, I was ever to go to a homepath, I'd go for a classical one, but I'm biased (I don't use homeopathic remedies, but my OH is a homeopath).
If you can't get a recommendation from a friend, check out the local ones on the Society of Homeopaths website, then look at the websites of the ones near you and talk to them on the phone, ask how they practice, what a consultation involves, when and how often follow-ups occur, and go woth the one you feel most comfortable with

Obviously I don't know where you are so this may be useless;
