If And When To Fertilise Crocus.
Last October I planted about a thousand crocus bulbs in a grass verge along the lane where I live. These are now just showing about an inch high. Is it advisable to fertilise them now with a general balanced fertiliser such as "Growmore" and/or give them an application of potash to encourage flowering? I am wary of allowing the grass too much encouragement, which will start to grow as soon as it is warm enough and compete and overpower the crocus once they have flowered to the detriment of next years success rate. Advice please.
