A work colleague has just been banned from driving for 18mths for drink driving. Any idea how long a driving conviction (DR10) will stay on his driving licence for?

11 years, the effect of it is for 10 years.

And an important thing for him to remember is that if he is convicted of a second drink-driving offence within this period of 10 years he will be subject to a mandatory minimum disqualification of three years.

And in addition to JudgeJ's answer - be subjected to a DVLA medical in order to get his/her licence back. �85 is the going rate.

And he needs to declare it when he gets his licence back to any prospective insurers!

christ landman r u a copper or summat?

I got dun 10 yrs ago on my way 2 wrk. had 2 pints nite b4 and got taxi home.felt fine. when tested i wos slightly over limit but coppers said if they let me off it wud set a precident to other drivers!!! as far as i'm concerned my only crime wos drivin 2 work at half 4 in the mornin in a cosworth. y dont they test us like they do in america and walk the line!! i think its just another stealth tax!!!
