London Sights

I'm going to London for a weekend in a couple of weeks . Saturday will be my only full day there , what sights should I really see , I know I won't get to visit too many in a day . Is the London Eye worth going on ?

I'd do an open top bus tour and the London Eye (if the weather's reasonable) and see what catches your eye (no pun intended) if you've any time left.

Hi Celtic_fan, London Eye on a clear day is fantastic, also worth visiting Tower of London,then walk along and go up the Monument, near the London eye you also have THe houses of Parliament, Downing street, Trafalgar square, Buckingham palace, tate gallery,National gallery,and westminster abbey, you will be tired but all are within walking distance, if you walk up whitehall you will also pass The horse guards,you will have a great time there, Enjoy it, From a Londoner

PS Tower of London & Monument are to far to walk from westminster but you can get a train from Westminster to Tower Hill (circle line)

Thanks raysparx, if I get to see all that you say I'll be happy !. I'm from Ireland , I reckon I'll be back over again sometime , so even if I see some of that it'll be good .

You can go in the Tate, National gallery, National Portrait Gallery, V&A, British Museum, Wallace Collection, Imperial War Museum, Museum of London, Tate Modern, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, even the Houses of Parliament for free, just take your pick.

If you fancy seeing the sights in a slightly more unconventional way, may I suggest doing a "Ducktour". Basically it is a bus that can drive on the road, and then drives into the Thames and turns into a boat so you continue your journey on the water!!!
