School finished at 3.15, text at 3.20 to say discos cancelled tonight due to rain. Why couldn't they have cancelled them earlier in the week, maybe the discos could have been held this afternoon? Now I have got four disappointed kids, three of which have been in tears. Why don't these people think, there is a village full of upset kids now.

It's a school disco, not the end of the world - there'll be countless others your kids can go to. They'll have forgotten all about it by the morning

I'm with Sherr, it's horrible when your kids get let down like that. Yes they'll get over it but still awful for them at the time.

Yes, the night was rescued. Things always seem worse when you are under ten years of age. One hacked off child is bad enough, four all at once is a big problem. Fully aware that people have bigger problems, but small people don't give a stuff about that. On the plus side, some predictable replies (Sqad springs to mind, predictable is quite nice though), went out for tea with free 'sharer' dessert and my children are happy. Still could have been handled better :)
