Brake trouble

our fiesta 1.1 was making a grinding noise when braking so we took it to my fellas mates garage thinking it was the brake pads wearing away, his made said it wasnt and changed the brake cylinder instead and put some brake fluid in, but after driving it again ,when you brake there is a sort of clink clink sound, and the car doesnt stop smoothly it judders. can anyone help?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.the brake fluid level will drop as the pistons in the front brake calipers move out further as the brake pads wear down. he works in a garage or owns it? it's a bad call to be honest. it's pretty certain the front brakes are knackered. go to kwikfit maybe but for gods sake get them checked properly before it kills you or someone else...
Your fella's mate dos'nt seem to have a clue!
As Paul says the brake fluid will need topping up slightly as the brake pads wear, the grinding noise you heard was probably the pads with hardly any lining on grinding on the brake discs now all the lining has gone and your trying to stop the car with metat to metal contact!
Let halfords have a look but it could now cost you for new brake discs aswell.
Did'nt your fellas mate even look at the brake pads?
