No information given regarding country. There are 12 questions of which I have answers to 11 of them-only 1 is 'foreign'. This one is creating a problem for all of us. I am told by the originator that it is 'well known'!!!

Thanks for everyones help on this! I'm a bit boz eyed at the moment reading lists of TRAINS.. on the internet. I'm now following the thread of Island, single malt whiskey. , for instance ISLAY, but no train names in lists. Now for a rest!

The only train I Know ending in “-onian” is the Aberdonian, which was a service from Kings Cross to Aberdeen which ceased to be a “named train” in the mid-70s but was revived by GNER.
However, not being too good at cryptic type crosswords I cannot see how this fits in with the single whisky part of the clue.
