Why do so many Welsh people have black hair?

genetic throw backs of the spanish invasions, thats why they are generally quite short. My granny was welsh and i have jet black hair.

..can't say that I've noticed that many with black hair, most people I know have brown hair , and like goodsoulette says, are very short ( I think this has something to do with the headroom of most houses in wales)....

Goodsoulette you are right. It is a throwback from the spanish. My mothers hair was jet black as was one of my sisters and my brother. My hair was a very dark brown until I began to turn grey..lol. I cant say every Taffie has black hair but they have the majority. My Dad btw was Irish and fair:-)

ginger people in ireland are from the norse invasion or so i heard, the irish celts have dark hair. my mum's welsh and has dark hair and dark skin. dad always maintains its spanish blood
