Replacement windscreen?

To get a replacement windscreen for your car do you have to have a good excuse or can you just phone up and say the previous owner scratched the glass and i've also got a couple of chips so i'd like a new one?

As long as your fully comp just ring up autoglass and they will fit you one ...

If the scratches aren't too deep you can polish them out look on www.frost.co.uk for a kit. I've used it and it works fine. Chips can be repaired using a clear resin - a windscreen guy did mine for �5. If you claim on your insurance there will be an excess ( �50 to �100 ) which you will have to pay and although it normally wouldn't affect your no-claims it will be logged against you.
