Has anyone got any idea how one can get rid of this plant.
Last year I dug out what I could and the flowerbed looked lovely. Now it looks like I never touched it. I now have it growing in the lawn as well but lawn weed killer had no effect. HELP please
Yes. This US site refers to it as 'field garlic' but it definitely confirms that it's edible:

(I've seen other websites that state that any plant that smells of either onion or garlic, confirming that it's an Allium, is always edible -but please don't blame me if that turns out to be wrong!!!)
Chris I'd take that advice with a -ha ha- pinch of salt. While the decorative alliums do smell of onion and may not actually be poisonous, I don't think they would add much to a recipe. Its like water mint, its a mint, smells strongly of mint, won't kill you but disgusting in cooking.
I think you've got three-cornered garlic there, you'll find the leaves are triangular in section. You'll have to dig the bulbs out (for years!) but while you've got them, all parts of the plant are edible and tasty, even the pretty flowers
