Leaves Falling From My Red Robin Hedge.

Hi, a huge amount of leaves are falling off my red robin hedge. Last year they had a mottled dark spot on them which I showed to my local garden centre, they said it was quite common and although a bit unsightly was not causing the plant any harm. I have new healthy red leave top of the hedge but most of the other leaves have fallen off leaving the hedge very sparse.
Any suggestions please. thank you.

Sounds very much like you have Photinia Leaf Spot on your Red Robin.
This is a fungal disease, so it can be controlled by clearing away all fallen leaves and twigs and destroying them.
You could also try a copper bassed fungal spray if it persists.
This leaf spot is common after wet rainy periods, which makes it easy for the fungal spores to spread.
