Friendship

Do you think that the friends that you have (I'm thinking mostly when you are a teenager) influence the kind of person you become or does the kind of person you are decide the kind of friends you make?
When I was about 12 I made a set of friends who were er, different lol and ever since then the friends that I have had, and me, have all been the same. Into different clothes, books, music etc than most other people.

i think you make friends with people that resemble your own personality. most of my mates were axe weilding homecidal maniacs.....

I think you are naturally and instinctively attracted attracted to certain people. Tests have been done by putting a load of strangers in a room together, and seeing who approaches who. The results were that the people who zoomed in on each other were VERY SIMILAR in upbringing, interests, morals etc. Very weird, but true. I think you go for people who you just FEEL chemistry with- that's why friends don't have to look a certain way. you just know you will get on. I have always been attracted to "unusual" people, who are very creative. And oddly, all the people who my best friends at University ended up getting Firsts, so I must have unintentionally gone for really academic high achievers too!!

we could take this one step further if you dont mind. for a long long time, ive thought about "what draws two people togeather in a romance" what makes one person attractive in a physical and emotional level to another ?? love has, in my opinion very little to do with physical attraction. i would guess its the same "thing" doing its stuff in a friendship or relationship.
