vauxhall combo van s reg,cylinder head cracked,should i put new cylinder in or is it best putting new engine in .dont want to spend 500 pound on new engine when the value is only 1000 pound

is it a bad crack? alot of these places that skim heads can also weld the head and skim it etc. instead of buying a new engine how about a recon head or 1 from a scrapy and if u do that mind and get it skimmed and pressure tested not that dear
