Good News, Today I won a digital radio on the local radio station.

Bad news. I paid a bill over the telephone with my debit card. They took £160 too much. They admitted it was their mistake but said it would take 3 to 5 days to give me my money back.

Well done. Things often take 3-5 days to come off my debit card, so maybe that's why?
Hey, well done winning the radio, Jeza, 3 to 5 days !, makes you wonder why, if they can take your money ( of the card immediately ) why they can't return it immediately.

Buy a dish washer Scriv.
Glad it was spotted and will be sorted soon.

How are things today? Any better ?
think of it as deferred b&c's in the bank Jez x
Jeza well done over the radio

3-5 days is standard for a return and yes they can take it immediately.

Some what better Mamya, but he is still very confused.

When They said they had made a mistake and taken too much, I said so if you have made me go overdrawn I take it you will pay my bank charges. At this point the girl on the phone got very upset and admitted it was her mistake. Feeling sorry for her I told her not to worry I would not go overdrawn and said don't pay the money back but knock it off next months bill. Can't do that she said I've paid someone else's bill with it.
At this point I was transferred to a supervisor.
Thanks for reply Jeza - take care.

Well done on your win too.
Good news.......I enjoyed a wee tot tonight

BT, How about a B&C. Thanks to Aldi's £5voucher I have 2 bottles.
Congrats on having won a Radio.

These big firms that hang onto money for a few days do so deliberately to make money. Just think of the amount of investment they can have with a few hundred overcharges. I remember having been told many years ago by a Bank Manager that it is possible to place money on overnight interest.

Hans.
yes that is so Hans

- I thought you were gonna volunteer that it is the Amsterdam overnight spot market.

Congrats on winning the radio jeza, hope Mic picks up soon.
My good news is MrAsk won a bottle of Bacardi in a raffle at the bowling match yesterday, the bad news is I have no Coke but even then I can't have a drink because I'm taking antibiotics.
Good news AYG (possibly) is that it is a myth that you have to stay on the wagon for all antibiotics. Check the accompanying literature, if you must stay dry for them it will say so in the leaflet.

Bad news is last orders is in five minutes.
Question Author
Not in this house Spikey. Last orders depends on what time I go to bed.
Not keen on B n C Jeza, but will pop into Aldi for a bottle of Highland Earl tomorrow.

Manny Shinwell, for those who remember him, once put his longevity down to a glass of whiskey every night of his life. As he lived to 101 I'm working on the same theory!
Question Author
BT, one of my neighbours says the same and she is 100.
