When I bought my whirly I also got a bag with black pegs in it. Come to think of it I've never used them - must have a hunt.

UV resistant eh ? Hmm my experience of the plastic ones is that they crumble well before proper wooden/metal ones fail.

I do have some dark purple ones that are almost (but not quite) black.

Its been a difficult and stressful couple of months but the light is now visible at the end of the tunnel :)
My mum died in February which didn't upset me, she did leave behind a financial mess and we discovered my brother had been stealing her money for the last 4 years (at least).... Families eh!!!
