drama, this looks extraordinary, it might not please the die hard fans, being rather warts and all, but its like watching the man himself -

It was magnificent. David Trelfall's portrayal of Cooper was extraordinar y. And the storyline was very clever. Baftas all round I think.

methyl, thank you, i thought it was excellent, admittedly this has some artistic licence, and has been refuted by his daughter Vicky, specially about the violence, but a very good piece overall
he was a favourite of mine and the o/h,
when he was ill, i bought some cds of this shows, had us falling about with laughter

did you watch the programme, i am the same,
one of the funniest, silliest gags,
man goes to the doctors, doctor says stick out your tongue and say ah. why says the man, doctor says, because my dog just died,
not to say that dogs death is funny, but hearing him telling that old joke had us in stitches.

i think it was one of the best things on recent years.
having watched him play the character smike in Nicholas Nickelby on stage years ago, its must have been horrendous, as smike is crippled, a very tall David Threlfall, who was on stage much of the time must have been in agony from distorting his body - that has always stuck in my mind.
