who makes the best icecream?,,,,,,,Forget Hagendass[not sure if that's how you spell it] and Ben & Jerrys,,,I still think icecream from when I was a kid was the best.[I'm getting on a bit though] Here's two examples,[dont laugh] Tonibell and Walls Cornish.........

The new coffee flavour (machiato) by Carte d'or is just heavenly...it's been impossible to get good coffee icecream till now, so I'm very happy lol!

Luca's in Musselburgh near Edinburgh -- people drive 40-50 miles or more to go to their cafe -- simply the best I have ever tasted.

In London? not really an ice cream, but a restaurant just down from Clapham Junction station called Fish in a tie, does a frozen zabbaglione (not sure of spelling) and it is just the dogs b***ocks. Yum Yum, and a 3 course meal there with drink is exceptional value.

Just to say,,,,,The survey is going really well,there are some really unusual and interesting one's mentioned,plus some readilly available one's from the supermarket that sound worth trying..I feel like a bit of a hypocrite,because in the original question I said forget Ben& Jerrys,and my latest favourite is Ben & Jerrys coconut and almond, I always buy this when I go to the cinema ,,as with all Ben & Jerrys,they are really over-the-top with there ingriedients loads of nuts & coconut[bit expensive though !!].................

i love, love ice cream and have tasted many, but the winner is my grandmother's, none can compete with hers. i remember drinking the mixture cold. it was made from evaporated milk, condensed milk, custard powder, vanilla essence, freshly squeezed coconut milk and sugar. oh sooo good. no eggs
