18 Answers
Just watched the above program, man with medical condition goes in to see the Council Officer who asks him 'how are you today', man replies 'I'm in a lot of pain', Council Officer comes back with, 'good. good'.
Couldn't believe my ears, just goes to show they don't listen.

Dive buddy - I do total agree with you, I wouldn't keep having children if I was in the dire straights most of them seem to be.
Just felt sorry for that single man as you cannot get even a small place for the housing benefit he was allowed and even when he offered to make up the difference they wouldn't let him!
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I can understand why the council turned down his offer to fund it himself from money he said friends and family would pay. They'd need some guarantee that the payments would be made regularly. He seemed to be in a lovely modern flat already so I'm not sure why he wanted to move. Also, I think if the housing benefit allowances were increased it would just mean private landlords would know they can push prices up even more.
I couldn't understand how that family who had been given a one bedroom place had managed to have 5 more children and now wanted to be rehoused. It's a dilemma- for the sake of the children more rooms are needed but I can see that parents shouldn't see having more children as a means of getting a bigger house.

1. A single man 30y+ wants to leave parents council house @ tax payers expense?
2.Woman wont vacate big flat unless TPayers offer a house with garden?
3.Single man gets ground floor flat & miracle 'arthritis' cure, limp gone?
4.Foreign couple lotsa kids no english want TP to fund them larger premises?
Its ALL unfair but good that TP landlords can cream back tax ;)
