I have a Zanussi Quick Mix washing machine its about 3 months all I put the wash on an extra spin and now the door wont open, what do I do ? I am starting to panic.

Happened to a machine I had and I started to panic so switched it off at plug, left it for several minutes switched it on again and it worked,, hope yours does too as it's horrible being left like that.

Yes that never happened with the old copper, dolly peg, washboard and mangle!

took a lot of effort the machine is heavy, had to pull the dishwasher out first, done that switched off , pulled plug out waited put it back but to no avail door still wont open.

It won't open if there is any water left in it. Try putting it through another cycle in case it's got confused- we had a Zanussi that had a mind of it's own you occasionally had to do this with.

Is that the name of the machine Dee, is there a model number or anything so we can see if we can find a user manual. My machine has a manual door opener hiddn away incase the door lock gets stuck.

thanks folks, there is no water inside and I did an extra cycle thinking the door would open at the end of it but it did not, the video is helpful as last resort but will have to wait until bro-in-law gets home from work to try this in the meantime I will try and find a model number.

don't ask how or why because it would not open 5 mins ago but just now I phoned Zanussi Warranty and whilst on hold to speak to an advisor I tried once more and low and behold the door opened "just like that", praise the lord and hallelujah, I love happy endings and thank god for helpful friends on C/B. Thank you folks.

here the bit where you get to laugh at me ! I could not get the dishwasher back and it was blocking the back door so I could not put the now very creased washing out, sods law, well I huffed and I puffed then got the man next door to do it. I am going out now before I have any more calamities, perhaps my middle name is Jane ? nah Gness wears the crown for that.
