Hi March Hare & Twix123, Cheers for that, I seem to be heading for a record list of answers on the Answerbank. Its really nice that people are so helpful, I'm very grateful indeed. Cheers Ian
My pleasure Ian ..... nice to be able to use a hobby to help someone x
No problem. I pay Ancestry UK enough each year, so at least someone else also gets some benefit out of it.
My sentiments exactly Twix! I keep threatening to cancel it but i never will as if I do, I will need it again. My tree is at 4300 names and STILL growing! x

Hi March Hare, With regards to the info we had before, I have written to J R Seaman but so far I've not had a reply. I couldn't get a phone number so I had to resort to the "snail mail". The other thing I'm having trouble with is tracing my Fathers other Brother Thomas Seaman. He was b 15/03/1895 in Dublin North. I can trace him on the two census available in Ireland 1901 & 1911(he was shown as 16ys) but beyond that there is no trace on marriage, death, military service or even emigration. Any good ideas? All the best Ian
Hi Ian ..... apologies, busy few dates and only just seen your question ...... I will have a closer look over the weekend :-)
I did find the following ....... can't be sure it's him of course - BUT considering he is at Birkenhead and this (plus Liverpool itself) were the main receiving ports from incomers from Ireland, I would suspect this might be him ............... only the 1921 census can tell us for sure - when it's finally released! What do you think?
NAME: Thomas Seaman
BIRTH: abt 1895
DEATH: Dec 1921 - Birkenhead, Cheshire, England
Was this any help Ian?

Hi March Hare, Yes it gave me an idea, I have a photo of a Police Officer who I think may be Thomas in a Liverpool City uniform. I have sent a copy of photo to their historians & I am awaiting any info they may have, I'll keep you posted. Cheers Ian
Oooh do it may be him then ...... fabulous!
