Not routinely I don't think - the two doses of MMR are sufficient.

If someone has missed out they can have it at a later age however.

Thanks Mamy, i wasn't sure if they still did it or not. So the MMR is suffucient for child bearing years?

If both doses have been received at approx 15 months and 5 years, yes.

If in doubt there is a blood test.

Thanks. I ask because I lost immunity in between my pregnancies, it was only the antenatal blood tests that discovered it but it was too late to get a jab as I was already pregnant. I had to have the MMR after my daughter was born.

It happens. I had Rubella as a child, so they bloodtested me when I started work in the NHS and found I had no immunity so I got vaccinated. Years lter I got tested again and vaccinated again. Years later I got tested again but this time they didn't bother to vaccinate.

Yes, if there is any doubt always worth getting the young lady tested.
