But it wasn't a just a building - it was a creation.
Mackintosh designed the whole thing - the building and every interior detail, down to the door handles and light shades. It was one of the few surviving examples of his complete, and unique, art nouveau vision. Look it up.
The building can be recreated but it'll never be the same.
Many Glaswegians never understood fancy art. But they did understand and loved and were proud of the Art School, just off Sauchiehall Street.
