Every time I go out of my door, my neighbours dog barks. This is getting extremely tiresome, and when sat in my garden talking to friends, it continually barks. Is there a device I could install to discourage what is a very unpleasant situation.?
First thing is to talk to your neighbour. Maybe the dog needs to get friendly with you and it will react to commands, like quiet! You'll feel better finding an amicable solution.
Next would be the Council, I presume. Noise nuisance etc.
Agree with Wildwood, get friendly with the dog and it probably won't bark. I live next door to a drinking club and when the smoking ban came into force the dog constantly barked at the smokers, he now knows all their voices and barely responds unless there is someone unfamiliar to him. Moot anyway as I won't let him bark too much, drives me round the twist.
I would certainly befriend it and talk to it in a nice way, it may be just lonely if it's left alone in the garden all day ? And I'd certainly speak to the owners to find out what the position is.
The dog and I are good friends, and indeed the neighbours are aware of the problem but unfortunately are unable to overcome it. Was wondering about an electronic frequency device which is activated the barking and which hopefully may get the message to the dog that when it barks, this high-pitched signal will be activated and perhaps stop it over time.
I don't really understand david, why are the neighbours unable to overcome it? It's their dog, so why should you have to try and stop it barking ? Like I said before and like another aber says, does it live outside all the time ?
