I showed my 5 year old granddaughter Andy Pandy and the Wooden Tops, on YouTube. She aghast and when I asked what she thought of them, she said they were boring.
Who remembers "In and out the bluebells?" I think we sang "In and out the Scottish bluebells - who shall be the master (not leader as on this video)

Another rhyme we chanted was

$$$$$ will be there kissing$$$$$ on a chair. How many kisses will he give her.
then you skipped as fast as you could until you fautered chanting

three and so on....
We also played Postman's knock and also a strange party game (can't remember what it was called) where a child lay down on the floor covered by a coat looking up the sleeve at the ceiling while someone held the sleeve up in the air. People took turns to peer down the sleeve and the child on the floor had to guess who it was by their eyes. The nasty twist was that someone poured water down the sleeve!

Thanx everyone for the Alley- o,and reminders of other games we used to play.No TV in those days, and I can never remember being bored at all. No Health and safety rules then either, and we all were unscathed, can not remember anyone breaking bones,or rushed to A & E, a good dollop of iodine did the trick, happy days don't you agree?
