Help With A Small Bathroom
5 Answers
I need some help with my bathroom please. After having some building work done sometime ago it was replastered and left. The thing is that it's only tiny (enough room for a bath a loo and a sink and just enough space left to stand in). Do I A: buy a bathroom pack and get someone to fit it then get someone else to paint/tile it or B: Have it redecorated then put the new suite in?
To give you an idea on the space limitations. We had a plummer out once to change the washers on the bath and he had to take the loo out just to get to it.
I really don't know where to start. My budget is about £1000. Any advice please?

Certainly have the ceiling and walls emulsioned to finish. It's a simple job to touch up the paint after the suite is in. There's no advantage in buying a pack these days. Fit the new bath first permmently then loose fit the sink and toilet tank so that they can be removed easely. Then decorate or tile. Then refit sink and toilet. please beware that not all bath length's are the same some are longer/shorter than each other so measure the length of the bath space very carfily before you buy the bath or you could have problems.

Have this all fitted, then tile. It's a much better job to tile down to a bath. Baths should be tiled full of water to simulate the weight of a person. This gives deflection. If not, when it's full of water and occupant, the seal could be strained and broken.
Try and do as much as you can yourself. I really don't want to be unhelpful, but I don't think you're going to buy the suite and have it fitted in that budget.
Hope it all goes well.
