From the wordplay it looks like it should be Rorting
RO (run out) RT (right) IN (ni)G(ht) but I'm not aware of rorting meaning protesting loudly.

Thank you all for your help.Rorting must be the answer-a new word to me.I thought I'd made a mistake but the second r comes from the clue Moses' brother's staff had miraculous plant-Aaron's Rod.

I think the setter has confused a noisy protest with a wild party.
