Itunes Password Problem

I have recently purchased a new Ipad and have been trying to download the ITunes App - I set up a password with my e-mail address and password but everytime I come to use it says that one or the other is incorrect and my account is disabled for security reasons. They have asked me to re-set my password on numerous occasions which I have done and have received an email to say it has been successfully re-set but the same thing happens and I cannot download anything from the App stores or ITunes.
It is driving me round the bend so any help would be most gratefully received. Many thanks.

Here are the instructions to set up an Apple ID and iTunes account using your iPad. Remember to choose the UK store if you are here in Britain or your country of residence if not. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Did iTunes ask you to use at least 1 capital letter and did you remember it?

Thanks Jomlett, I did exactly what they said - figures Upper case Lower case - they keep saying it is successfully set but when I come to use it they still say my account is disabled. It is so frustrating - thanks for answering.
Have you actually set up an account on iTunes, with your credit card details (if you want to download anything other than free apps, music etc.) address etc?

I cannot do this as they il not give me access to download the ITunes app. Thanks for answering.
Try switching the iPad off then on again, then tap iTunes and try again. Something that simple often works.

You do need to have at least 1 capital letter in the password.

What may be happening is that the iPad comes defaulting to "Auto Capitalisation" - so lets say your capital letter is not the first character of your password eg. you have set your password as

passWord

but if auto caps is on it would actually be

PassWord

Go to Settings then General then Keyboard and change the settings there.
PS. your email address may also be case sensitive. Auto caps would also capitalise that.

eg.

m.mouse@cartoon....

would actually be entered as

M.mouse......

Thank you very much Milvus and all other people who have answered - I have now successfully set up a new account using a sub-email address and have actually purchased a song - a million thanks.
