I'm going out of my mind trying to find a film i saw years ago. It was about a young boy that could look at a picture and bring it to life. His mother was dead and his father was suffering due to his sons weird gift ( i thought the father was jerry orbach but wasn't) In the end the father sits the boy on his knee and shows him a picture of fire and the two of them go up with the house. Very morbid i know, but i'm begining to think i dreamt it! Thanks for all help in advance.

the butterfly effect? sounds kinda similar

Thanks for that but, no sorry, it wasn't the butterfly effect. I think the film was made in the mid eighties, but i'm not sure.
