With a lacklustre, woeful almost England-esque performance it is confirmed that Roy's Boys will not progress any further. Italy v Uruguay should be a blinder though! Well done Costa Rica, showing the big boys how it's done.

Why do people say things like that? Uruguay last won the competition in 1950. Are they fielding the same team this time? If not, the fact that eleven other people from the same nation won it 64 years ago is... well, it's difficult to imagine anything less relevant, to be honest...

With both teams having nothing to play for on Tuesday... not even affecting the table... except maybe a little pride already lost on England and Costa Rica must be rolling in it.
Lets hope Roy fields the next generation for the experience and I'd even field Lampost for his final game.
Also if by some luck Italy did win today... England would have had no chance against Costa Rica.

A lot of other countries pay for over priced footballers who do also though manage to play well for their country. Not forgetting a lot still do or have played in the Premier League.
It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Brenden Rodgers of Liverpool had contacted his English players not to harm his other player Luis Suarez. As the club do pay their wages, felt they have to comply ;-)

As I commented on a thread earlier in the week. The Premier league must concentrate on bringing our youngsters through the ranks if they want them to play for England. They don't do they. They would prefer to spend vast amounts of money to buy foreigners to win CUPS. They are not interested in English football at all. There is no money in it for them.
