Here we go again, regional stereotypes once more.
Bikes get stolen all the time...everywhere!
Well said, whirly & roy!

"Ch Insp Chris Hitchell said: "This is an absolutely terrible thing to happen to anyone visiting our city but it is made worse by the fact that this group are here to raise money for charity and a cause which is dear to so many Liverpudlians' hearts."

Just bad luck I suppose. Perhaps they should have parked the van inside Anfield, where there are less thieves.
I think it's a dreadful thing to happen, considering they were going to ride for a charity that is very dear to a lot of Liverpudlians.
Fewer thieves inside Anfield than without?

Opening mouth to change feet there...

It would seem a safe guess jeffa..I am fairly sure that the van would have been safer inside the gates of the football stadium. It quite obviously wasn't safe outside in the street.
Looks like you've touched a nerve with the mickey mousers there mikey, but as a mate of mine often says:

Kick one Scouser.................and they all scream!
Has nothing ever been half inched where you live then , chill?
I had a bike nicked from my shed.

I just think that it was a bit daft leaving their van unguarded. They lost the passports as well. I'm not saying that it couldn't have happened anywhere else but it didn't...it happened in Liverpool. After all, its the reason these Irish chaps were there in the first place, to offer Liverpudlians some support.
Bet they wished they hadn't bothered in the first place...might have been better to send the money raised by recorded delivery instead.
I had no idea you lived in Liverpool, ummmm.
I don't. Like you say, it could happen anywhere...
I'm reminded of an old Scouse joke.Thief runs into a butchers and steals a joint of beef,.Thief then runs out of shop with butcher in pursuit shouting"what are you doing with that joint of beef?" to which thief replied"Carrots,Broccoli and Boiled Potatoes".
Question Author
Careful, or you will have the Liverpudlians after your blood grumpy !
I told that joke to a friend of mine who is a Liverpudlean and he said that was typical of scouse humour.
It's just been made into a bigger story than usual because of the irony of the reason that they were there in the first place.
The real measure will be whether or not the thieves do the right thing and return all items intact via an anonymous phone call.

Let's wait and see.........
Question Author
I'm sure it is grumpy and it gave me a titter or two. But hell hath no fury like a Liverpudlian scorned apparently !
Question Author
I'm not sure we should hold our breath chilli but we might as well give it a try I suppose.
