.camelidae.lama.html for an appropriate American university web-page. There, it is claimed that the llama is a domesticated sub-species of guanaco and that the latter can run at 56 kph. I imagine the llama would be capable of similar speed if it is, as claimed, a sub-species.

It will probably reach about 100mph if you push it out of a plane without a parachute!!
