When I had life threatening pneumonia, it changed the way I look at life. I used to take it for granted, now I think of it as a gift. So whats the worst illness you've ever had?
After my step-father died, I was so grief stricken it made me very very ill - all sorts of symptoms cough, rash, fever etc etc I was bad for around 6 weeks !!
Apparently I nearly died from pneumonia when I was a child too.
LOL Peter - no, it was at the height of the troubles here - I was visiting my friend (who had been killed the previous Saturday) her mother and was walking home when somebody took a pot shot at me from a passing car.
My brother was singing (professional) in a local club and somebody went in and told him I had been shot. He then had to tell my mother who was in bed and she was calling me all the names of the day cos I was late - he then said "Mother Connemmara has been shot - she promptly fainted - luckily she was in bed. LOL
It would have to be Crohn's disease, I cope with it pretty well, or I think I do anyway,
It is just made ten times worse by the side effects,
I have osteoporosis because my body doesn't use the calcium properly and chronic fatigue syndrome, both because of the chrohn's. I also have mild Ehlers Danlos.
Any long term illness can be a right bas***d to live with, but sometimes I think that it can make you stronger as a person. X
